It's a new year and that means new model horses to be released!! It is also the year of the horse again as per the Chinese lunar calendar!
Meet Yàn Wǔ!!
This year, according to the Chinese Calendar, is the year of the horse, ore specifically a fire horse (also name of a film I've been meaning to check out). Year of the Fire Horse is an event that occurs once every 60 years, a year meaning to bring independence brought forth from the intense power of the element of fire. This represents the period of extreme, fast-paced energy, driving bold action, innovation and in sme cases, potential social upheaval. Yàn Wǔ is on the Amazigh Stallion/Anamar mold in a splash metallic red and orange under tone coat with a pearly white base, gold mapping, and a Chinese character I'm assuming is either his name or represents year of the horse. It is interesting they named him Yàn Wǔ, which means smoke or smog even delay, but this type of year is referred to as Bing Wu according to the calendar. Either way I like him and plan to get him to go with my other Chinese zodiac models from the past.
Meet Betsy & Ross!!
This year is the United States semiquincentennial, meaning 250 year anniversary since declaring independence from England. This pair is named for the creator of the first iteration of the flag for the USA, which was Betsy Ross. Both are in clear wear plastic, Betsy the mare is in a blue clear wear with 13 stars for the original 13 colonies and her colt Ross is in a red clear wear featuring the stripes of the flag. They are on the Mustang Mare/Tigerlilly and Mustang Foal/Firestorm molds. I want to get this pair to go with my other Independence Day clear wear models so I can have all of them.
Meet Apollitical Jess!!
Apollitical Jess is currently the number 1 leading sire for Quarter Horse racehorses. In 2010 he was crowned the World Champion Racing American Quarter Horse shattering track records and earning a total of $1,399,831 in earnings after retiring that same year. He is in high demand as he has over $75 million in progeny earnings. Jess is a 2007 sorrel/chestnut stallion and he is portrayed on the Geronimo mold, he appears to have to some birdcatcher spots and light white ticking. I like him but I think I will wait to get him to focus on other models.

Meet Jaguel Hilton!!
Hilton is the only Criollo stallion currently standing in the United States. He originally hails from the Pampas region of South America, these athletic stock horses are the mount of choice South American "gauchos", skilled horsemen of the area. Hilton is a two time qualifier of the Freno de Oro/Freio de Ouro world finals, which is a high intensity ranch horse versatility competition. He stands stud at Gravitas Criollos since retiring. The new Criollo Stallion/Bandalero mold gets its first portrait model release, Hilton's model sports a roached mane and his dapple grey coat. He is very pretty and is another that I will wait to get after awhile.
Meet Ideal Series-Pinto!!
The next release in the Ideal Series is a bay pinto Saddlebred inspired by a horse featured in a painting the Paint Horse Association had Orren Mixer commission (Paint Horse Painting-Orren Mixer). The painting was to feature a variety of paint horse, not just stock horses as a saddlebred was included and this one appears in it. I kind of like him but I think I'll hold off on him as well as I still need to get the other two that came before him.

Meet Pluto Gratia!!
Gratia has been an ambassador for his breed and discipline, he once was a quadrille performer at the famed Temple Farms in Illinois. Gratia has found a new home at Good Luck Farm Lipizzans when Temple sadly closed its doors after 65 years. Now retired from performance he now enjoys his days as a classical dressage schoolmaster, grazing with his herd, and riding on the local trails of Colorado. Finally not only a portrait release on the Rearing Lipizzaner Stallion/Adonis mold, but it's also a white grey one too!! I'm also glad he is the non-stand version as I liked this version after being revealed at Breyerfest back in 2024, sadly I got the with stand version for that special run but at least this version is more obtainable and will look better.
Meet GG Kiss Me Kate!!
The "winningest Vanner horse in history" is Kate! She is a granddaughter of The Gypsy King who also was made into a Breyer model along with his daughter Kuchi (Kate's aunt)! Kate is a 56 time Supreme Grand Champion, 34 time National Supreme Grand Champion, and a member of her breeds Hall of Fame!! These titles have been won in hand, in harness, and under both English and Western saddles!! As a broodmare she has given birth to foals that have proven to be champions in their own right. She is on the Gypsy Vanner Mare/Rhiannon mold. I do like her rich black coat, somewhat refreshing to have a solid coat Vanner after the sea of pinto/paint ones which I do like but to show a variety is nice too. She is also on hold for me to get at a later time.
Meet Thorin!!
Thorin is a unicorn that is a tribute to the stormy skies and the rainbows that follow after. He is a glossy shaded grey with blue and purple highlights, he has silvery hooves and horn. He is really nice and while I like the unicorns, my mom collects them the most so she will definitely get him as soon as she can to add him. It is nice to have another unicorn on this mold, especially not flocky with mohair for his mane and tail which is slightly hard to keep clean.
Meet Bear Mom & Cub Set!!
Meet Bear Mom & Cub Set!!
The mom and cub have been reunited and utilized once more, last time they made an appearance together were as the web special set Ursa Major & Ursa Minor in 2020 which I have, the cub was then released as part of the gummy bear set for Breyerfest 2022. Looks like Breyer is now trying to release at least one non-horse/non-equine release for the regular run lineup for every year which is fine, a change up is nice and these animal molds don't get much use outside of collector exclusive releases, Breyerfest, OOAK auction pieces, etc. I personally don't fully care for them so I don't collect them but I am happy for those that do and can continue to collect them.
Meet Fuego!!
This year's Halloween horse is Fuego!! He his on the Akhal-Teke/Altynai mold in a fiery red and orange coat with dragon outlines!! Fits this years fire horse theme well, he is also glow in the dark as usual. I've seen on social media people not like him as dragons aren't Halloween related but I beg to differ. I've seen medievalesque type of Halloween decor and I have once seen a big blow up of a skeleton dragon amongst other giant skeleton blow ups, the headless horseman being the most popular plus his horse Daredevil breathes fire too. Not to mention dragons are a bit scary, they're always depicted as fierce and can cause a lot of devastation (Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon show the realism of this), plus if they were real many would have a right to be terrified of them, so I don't see why dragons can't be apart of Halloween. Heck there are dragon Halloween costumes, especially cutesy ones like Spike from My Little Pony and wouldn't surprise me if there were ones for Dragontales (let's go to Dragonland!!) back when that was on the air and possibly ones for other popular dragons in media. SO I like him and also with the game Dispatch being released last year I may quote the character Flambae as his catchphrase is "On fuego!"

Meet Holiday Homecoming!!
This year's Christmas/Holiday model is Holiday Homecoming on the Standing Thoroughbred/Emerson mold!! Adorned with a blanket with a snaffle bit chain and holiday ornaments, he also sports a pearly white grey coat. I really like him and am glad to have another white grey/grey thoroughbred. Many don't like him especially since last year's model was also grey and many seem underwhelmed by this models looks, but to each their own.
Meet Gambit!!
Gambit is a sooty buckskin blanket appaloosa pony, he is this year's flagship dealer model!! He will come a long a little bit later on. He can only be purchased in store only but preorders maybe offered online as a first come first serve basis, so check with your retailers if they'll get him in stock and/or offer preorders for him!! He is very cute and will be on the look out for him at my local flagship locations. Gambit is on the Newsworthy mold.
That's it for this post as I don't want it too long, I will post the rest in a separate post so this will be a two part topic. See y'all in the next one!!
(pics and info come from and belong to Breyer)
