It is a new ear and with that comes the Breyerfest reveals for the year as tickets will be on sale soon, I believe by February I read somewhere but no later than March. Let's take a look at the first few, I do this so the posts are super long and make it easier to read and look at. So without further ado...
Meet the Nordic Nations Single Day Stablemates!!!!
Meet Keflavik!!!Keflavik represents the country of Iceland. Her colors represent the fag with a glossy dappled metallic red coat with blue points and white undertones. She is on the new laying down, aka Enya, mold. She is very cute and I was wondering what they were going to do as there were many opportunities, especially due to all the countries they decided to include aside from just Sweden and maybe Norway. The flags are a very cool idea to represent them all.Meet Helsinki!!!
Helsinki represents Finland. His coat is a glossy dappled metallic blue with white undertones with two front socks. He is on the Standing Friesian, aka Django, mold. He is very pretty and I like this blue coat a bitter better than most of the Copenhagens they've done in the past, it reminds me of the denim horses Breyer has done in the past and this could be a good coat to replicate in the future for another denim deco, especially one to represent acid wash jeans form the '80s. I would love to get him while at Breyerfest.Meet Uppsala!!!
Uppsala represents the flag of Sweden! He is a metallic yellow and metallic blue splash pinto on the mini version of the vintage Semi-rearing Mustang mold. I really like, I think he maybe my fav out of all four with Helsinki close behind in second. Uppsala could also be a great little buddy for Gilded who is similarly colored.Meet Copenhagen!!!
Copenhagen represents the country of Denmark, he is in a very delicious glossy metallic candy apple red sabino coat (I wish my deco Speos was this red for driving forward and more car like). He is on the Vaulting Drafter mold. I really want him for his coloration and need Breyer to do more in this red.We also have our first special run revealed!!
Meet Litha!!
Litha (pronounced as "Lee-tha") is an event celebrated in Germanic neopagan circles. It comes from Bede's "Reckoning of Time" in which Anglo-Saxons name June and July summers months known as "līða" (Lee-tha).This Litha is a rich red bay tobiano pinto on the Ethereal mold. I really like him, I think this mold fits really both in name (of mold that is) and his pose. He definitely seems he would join in on the festivities and activities especially around the maypole. So far he is a must get for me.Meet Aquavit!!
Aquavit is a distilled beverage that can be with either caraway or dill seed, along with some other botanical, it has been produced in Scandinavia since the 15th century. It Sweden it also must contain fennel. The name is derived from the Latin "aqua vitae" meaning "water of life", somewhat checks as in one point in time some alcoholic beverages were safer than water to drink, also shares the same etymology as the Gaelic word for whiskey. Aquavit is an important part of Nordic culture and can mostly be found around Christmas time and Midsummer. It's traditionally not chilled in Norway as it is meant to be savored, but in Iceland, Sweden, and Denmark it is served cold. Each distillery makes their own unique version but this causes controversy across Scandinavia as is whose is the best. This Aquavit is on the new Molly Mule, aka Winnifred, mold. She is in a bay dun coat. Slightly surprised they revealed the non-equine/non-horse special run this early but I will take the switch up. I do like her, so far I will add her to the list of special runs I want to get.
Meet Thingvellir!! Thingvellir is the anglicized name of "Þingvellir", it is a National Park in southwest Iceland cherished for both historical and geographical significance. It, and the rest of Iceland, sit on a continental divide, one part on the North American tectonic plate and the other on the Eurasian tectonic plate. This leads to Icelands volcanic and hot spring activity. Thingvellir historically translates to "Assembly Plains" was the site of Althing, the nations parliamentary meeting from 980 until 1798 due to moving to Reykjavik (also a model from the Destination Series) in the 19th century. This general assembly is where leaders made laws, court convened, and where the free men of Iceland could gather to bring their disputes to officials. The Althing is the oldest parliament in the world.
This Thingvellir is on the vintage Man O' War mold in a grullo overo coat. I am a sucker for grullos and I do love the thoroughbred molds so he is a definitely one I need to get this Breyerfest. It looks like he also one blue eye, I'm glad Breyer is starting to do more with heterochromia, hopefully they do bicolored irises next (heterochromia iridis is the medical/scientific name).
That's all I have for this post, see y'all in the next one!!
