Final Breyerfest Reveals!!

The last of the Breyerfest exclusive model are here!!

This next one is inspired by vintage molds and how some gave way to the idea of molds having interchangeable parts. This mostly coming from the Sherman Morgan mold and how the original cast was broken and then fixed by reworking it.

Sherman Morgan was reintroduced in 2000 and Strapless was the first with interchangeable parts in 2003. Interchangeable parts have allowed for more and better breed representation. It started with loose mane and tail and braided mane and tail variations, now there are a variety on neck positions like the Arabian mare as well as leg positioning and feathering or lack there of like on the Brishen mold. This then leads on to our next special run reveal!!

Meet Hats Off to You!!
Hats Off to You is the vintage mold special run for this year. He is done on the old timer mold, I believe the last time he was used was for LaFitte from 2019. He is done in a grulla blanket appaloosa coat, and the best part is he doesn't only come with a hat, he comes with two hats!! That's right, he'll have interchangeable hats, one is the classic and original straw hat, the other is a party hat!! That is definitely a nice surprise and nice edition for the 75th anniversary.
I really like him. I like this mold as it slightly reminds me of Ms. Foufou from Aristocats (Disney). I also love they made a new hat for him as usually he just gets the one, once they did flowers but that was it, otherwise you can find customizers who make other hats for this mold. The party hat is very cute, plus my LaFitte needs a friend and again I am a sucker for grullas.

Next special run is...
Meet Future is Bright!!
Every year Breyer tries to include at least one mold that was debuted in the Premier Club the year before. Sometimes it's an OOAK in the live auction the same year it is released, but usually more releases are made the following year. The Premier Club debuted in 2012 and took the place of the Connoisseur Club, though the Premier Club focused more on introducing new molds while making them better quality, Connoisseur was a mix of new and existing molds to make higher end models. Future is Bright is on the new Criollo Stallion mold, and this one is a full maned version vs the roached mane that Bandalero had when first introduced. He also sports a bright palomino coat with lots of dappling.
I love him!! He looks great in this bold coat and the long full mane helps add to it. I love his dapples and like the idea he could double for a mustang in the wild. I definitely want to make sure I bring him home with me, I don't think I can pass him up nor leave the Horse park without him.

Final Special Run is...
Meet Life's a Journey!!
Breyer originally started in Chicago, Illinois in 1950 under the name Breyer Molding Company making mantlepiece clocks for Woolworth. The first of which is now #57 the Western Horse. Though most people just wanted the horse and wanted to know who made it and how they could get one. Thus the journey of making horses began, from 1950-the 1980s Chris Hess had made more than 100 molds for Breyer. From the Western Horse to Secretariat in 1987, this sculpting journey also led to Lassie being created. In 1980 Breyer was acquired by Reeves International which led to a relocation to the current location in Pequannock, New Jersey. The company has now grown into a premier brand of model horses & equine themed gifts, toys, and collectibles.
Life's a Journey is this year's non-equine/horse special run. She is done on the underused and underrated Lassie mold, she sports a blue merle coat. This is the first time she's been used since 2016 as a web special that was limited to 40 pieces, and usually comes in the breeds most common color of sable and white like the TV star she's based off of. Life's a Journey also comes with a blue bandana with the 75th anniversary logo around her neck.
She's cute and I don't entirely dislike her. I just don't like her enough to justify getting her over one of the other special runs, especially since I want multiple surprise models if there's enough variations I like. I rarely like the non equine/horse model enough to get, the last time I did (not counting Bucky in hopes of the blue variations) was Inari from Breyerfest 2018. I'm glad for this year it wasn't an over used bull/bovine or St. Bernard, though I wan't sure if they were gonna do one or not as I wasn't sure what they possibly could do. I'm glad it was Lassie as she is one of many dog breeds form Breyer that get forgotten, especially since the Rin Tin Tin mold is permanently destroyed after an accident and we'll more thna likely sadly never see a German Shepard from this scale and era again. If anything it would've been interesting if they did the pink poodle as that was one of the first, if not the first non equine/horse special run introduced. So far, I think I may put her on the far back burner just incase/last resort if need be, but we'll see.

First Breyerfest Online Exclusive Model is here!!
Meet Hooplah!!
The first jumping mold was the Jumping Horse with the stonewall stand. It was sculpted by Chris Hess and produced in 1965. Breyer would then tap into the world of show jumping, depicting horses soaring. The Hunter Pony (aka Newsworthy) then followed the Jumping Horse, then came Bristol/Warmblood Jumper. They've also came in all sorts of colors: bays, greys, chestnuts, and even pintos!!
Hooplah is a bay tobiano pinto on the popular Bristol mold with the loose mane and tail version. He is quite nice and I like his coloring and shading, but he's not quite screaming for me to make sure to snag him once available on the online store like the ones of the past have been. I think I may pass on him for now and get him later, or maybe if Breyer last minute decides to extend his ruin for getting him like they did for Blue Zeus or he's leftover especially in the second chance sale maybe I will then consider, but I want to try to focus on other models I would really like to get right now.

The Online Exclusive Stablemate is here!!
Meet Shindig!!
Draft horses have been a big part of history, from driving, to hauling logs, to pleasure riding, and draft shows. The gentle giants have been a staple in Breyer history as well. The first being the Clydesdale Stallion created by Chris Hess. Then followed the Clydesdale Mare, Clydesdale Foal, Belgian, Percheron Mare, Shire Gelding and more!! More recently has been the Rhenish Draft, aka Georg, who is both in traditional scale and stablemate scale and both being very popular.
Shindig is done on the stablemate version of the Rhenish Draft/Georg mold. He also sports a grey sabino coat. He is cute and I slightly like him a bit more than Hooplah but I'm still not completely sold. I think I'm also gonna pass on him for now till later.

The Plushy has been revealed!!
Meet Party Pal!!
Pal-o-Mine joined Breyer in 2000 and has been a Breyer and Breyerfest icon ever since. He has been in plush from before, especially as a little plush clip on for your school backpack. This year, he will be an option between a blue pompom or yellow pompom version, but all will have a party hat and special sash for 75 years of Breyer. I think he is really cute and will definitely pick one up. I will choose the yellow pompom version as that is my favorite color.

Crystal Horse has been revealed!!
Meet Standing Ovation!!
The American Saddlebred Stallion mold was first released as a special limited on top of a clock for Breyer's 50th anniversary. He was also used for Breyerfest's 30th anniversary as Banner. So it fits perfectly that he be used as the crystal horse for this year, though that also means he is removed form list of guesses for the surprise horse that's coming later.
As always, I really like him, especially my mom who always gets the crystal horse each year. So that means he will be one of many models to come home with me this year. Which means Breyerfest reveals are mostly done for now, I will have a separate post for the volunteer model that was revealed at BreyerWest/BreyerMidWest this past weekend.

So sorry for the delay in this post and others I have that need to come out. Been busy with work, keeping my laptop running, and some slight lack of motivation to post especially as the weather fluctuates causing my allergies top go haywire. We've had a lot of storms come through, less sunny days, and temp going back down to the chilly and cold instead of staying warm or warm enough. I am planning to get more posts out at the end of the month, especially since I am almost done applying for another degree, wish me luck. See y'all later!!
